JC Payne (UK) Ltd is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Stephen Horrocks to the position of Finance Director. Steve started his role on Monday 4th November 2019, assuming control and responsibility for all financial aspects of the business to support the delivery of the company’s ambitious growth plans along with providing strategic support and input to the Board.
Steve started his career at Clement Keys and qualified as a Chartered Accountant in 2007, becoming a partner in the business in 2013. Whilst in practice Steve worked with many SME owner managed businesses across a broad spectrum of sectors, including those in both automotive and manufacturing. Steve joins after 4 years at TeacherActive, one of the largest independently owned specialist Education Recruiters in the UK, where he held the position of Chief Financial Officer since 2018 and Finance Director prior to this date.
Steve says: “I am very excited to have started my new role. Having known the business for some time and watched the company more than double its revenue in the last 6 years alone, I know I am joining at an exciting time and look forward to working with the whole team to help the business continue its growth moving forward.”
This senior appointment means that David Scorer, who has worked for JC Payne since its acquisition by its current owners over 10 years ago, will be able to fully concentrate on the operational side of the business, having been promoted to Operations Director in January 2018 from his prior position of Financial Controller. David has worked his whole career in the commercial vehicle industry, having started his career valeting trucks and subsequently holding positions including Rental and General Manager at a commercial vehicle hire company, prior to utilising his accounting degree as Financial Controller. David leads all operational aspects at the company’s 130,000 square foot manufacturing facility based in Aldridge in the West Midlands.
