About Us

Innovation and Development

At JC Payne, we are constantly seeking to improve the products we offer, whether by improving our production techniques, eliminating waste or by designing an improvement to commercial vehicles. With recent advancements in the areas of our fibreglass pod and the design of our underrun, our engineering team are constantly looking for ways to improve.

Our team builds your body using advanced automated production techniques. With a process unique to this sector of the market, we can guarantee that every order is built to consistent quality standards.

Quality

JC Payne has been both certified with an ISO 9001:2015 certificate by Interface NRM Ltd and issued a Conformity of Production clearance by the Vehicle Certification Agency, both as indication of the company’s high levels of quality control. The company ‘s environmental system has also been accredited to ISO 14001:2015.

The company’s business’ operating policy provides for processes that ensure high levels of quality control are consistently maintained in not just production but engineering, administration, sales and all other departments within the organisation. Such a quality assurance system allows for the development of even better production techniques and standards of builds, as well as the retention of a comprehensive profile of each body.

Whole Vehicle Type Approval

In accordance with EC Directive 2007/46, all goods vehicles to be registered up to 3.5 tonne from April 2013 and over 3.5 tonne from October 2014 must be whole vehicle type approved (WVTA). Such approval requires either an Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) or a Certificate of Conformity to a pre-existing approval from each stage manufacturer of a multi stage vehicle.

As a stage 2 manufacturer, JC Payne has worked closely with the Vehicle Certification Agency to obtain approvals enabling the company to issue Certificates of Conformity with all types of body built on numerous chassis manufacturers, including Mercedes, Ford, Volkswagen, Iveco, Renault and Mitsubishi. Such certificates mean that as a customer, you can register your vehicle as soon as it is completed, rather than having to wait lengthy periods to obtain an IVA (Individual Vehicle Approval N2 & N3), another benefit of having your body built by us. If you require our approval documents, you can also request access to these through our customer portal.
