Whole Vehicle Type Approval

In accordance with EC Directive 2007/46, all goods vehicles to be registered up to 3.5 tonne from April 2013 and over 3.5 tonne from October 2014 must be whole vehicle type approved (WVTA). Such approval requires either an Individual Vehicle Approval (IVA) or a Certificate of Conformity to a pre-existing approval from each stage manufacturer of a multi stage vehicle.

As a stage 2 manufacturer, JC Payne has worked closely with the Vehicle Certification Agency to obtain approvals enabling the company to issue Certificates of Conformity with all types of body built on numerous chassis manufacturers, including Mercedes, Ford, Volkswagen, Iveco, Renault and Mitsubishi. Such certificates mean that as a customer, you can register your vehicle as soon as it is completed, rather than having to wait lengthy periods to obtain an IVA, another benefit of having your body built by us. If you require our approval documents, you can also request access to these through our customer portal.
